Hi there, I'm Charene. I am a visual artist with a deep passion for exploring the dialogue between color, value, light, and movement. I use mixed media in my mission to create uplifting artworks that bring a sense of joy and peace to both the viewer and the space my art inhabits. I create both small intimate and large scale artworks with each having a different process in the way I create these two compositions.

My creative process is mostly intuitive, beginning with fluid pigments and moving colors. Drawing inspiration from the way color, water, value, lines and shapes interplay with each other, I approach each canvas with a sense of wonder, viewing color as a powerful vehicle for mood and emotion. I allow myself the freedom of spontaneous play, followed by deliberate structural refinement.

Another signature element of my practice is the integration of sewing. I use precise stitching to create sharp, geometric separations directly with the canvas. By constructing and altering my own surfaces through this textile process, I welcome unexpected compositions and creative choices—never truly knowing how a piece will look until it is complete.
